A properly laid GRP roof on a sound deck should give you decades of service rather than years, because there are no seams or laps to open up. The deck underneath matters as much as the covering, which is why we check it before quoting.
Occasionally, but usually not. Old felt is often holding water and a soft deck will not carry a new covering. We take a look, tell you honestly whether the deck needs replacing, and price it either way.
The falls are wrong or the deck has sagged. Ponding water finds every weakness eventually, so when we re-cover a roof we firr the deck to a fall so it drains to the outlet properly.
Yes. Forming and sealing a skylight upstand is a normal part of a flat roof job for us, and it is far cheaper to do at the same time as the covering than to cut one in later.
Not with a bonded GRP or built-up system on a solid deck. The noise people remember is usually from thin, loose or blown coverings that have started to lift.
